I want others to know the life changing power of Jesus Christ. I have experienced it personally and know the difference Jesus can make in a person’s life. I would have been voted least likely to be a pastor, but God had different plans. I am excited to be able to help others appropriate Christ’s life changing power in their lives.

Originally from Coushatta, Louisiana I was raised working in my family’s tractor company.  During college I played football at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, till knee surgery and a broken leg changed my mind.  My life was radically changed by Jesus during a revival at First Baptist Church in Coushatta at the age of 25 and I later surrendered to ministry at the age of 27.  I married the lovely Stephanie Barcus and we have four children Elizabeth, Silas, Sarah, and Grace. I was in the ministry as senior pastor for 12 years serving churches in Louisiana and Mississippi. I came on staff at First Baptist Church of Houma in April 2007 as Discipleship Pastor.

My favorite books beside the Bible, are Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein, Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis,  Imitation of Christ by Thomas a’ Kempis, and Renovation of the Heart: Putting on the Character of Christ by Dallas Willard. My doctoral project was entitled: “Equipping selected men … to implement Dallas Willard’s pattern of personal transformation.”

I enjoy hanging out the the family, hunting, sporting clays, trap, skeet,  and fishing.
