Are Mormons TRUE followers of Christ? This is a question that has come to me this week. I have good friends who are mormons, but they are not Biblical Christians. Christianity and Mormonism are incompatible. Mormons believe that God used to be a man and if a man is righteous enough when he dies, he will get to be the God over his own planet. There are multitudes of gods to them – all of whom were men at one time. This makes Jesus no better than you or I. This rejects the greatness and glory of God. They also believe Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) were brothers.
They reject the Scriptures except for the ones that have been modified by them to fit their errors. They are deceptive in the fact that the use similar language to Christians. They talk about faith, salvation, belief in Jesus, and Jesus dying for their sins – BUT there is a HUGE PROBLEM – In simplistic terms, they are using a different dictionary. It would be like switching the labels from the milk jug and the bug spray in your house. Deceptive, Dangerous, and Deadly.
The Bible says that there is ONLY ONE GOD and ONLY ONE SAVIOR. He the Lord and He is One. There were no gods formed before God Almighty and there will be no gods formed after Him. God Almighty is one and has always existed.
Isaiah 43:10-11 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. 11 I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior.
Mormons believe an angel came and gave Joseph Smith a the correct gospel, a correct understanding of Jesus Christ. This is a different gospel that teaches a different Jesus and a different way of salvation.
Galatians 1:8-9 “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
They have been deceived by Satan. Yes, Satan and his demons can appear in a visible form to people. But not always in the way you might think, like a dragon with horns. Notice what the Bible says about how Satan deceives people.
“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14
The Bible says if someone comes to your door bringing a different doctrine than what the Bible reveals as the truth, you are not to welcome them into your home.
2 John 10-11 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Watchman.org is a Biblical ministry that I know has taught in Southern Baptist Seminaries to help people understand cults, the occult, and new age teachings. Check out their website.
