Fill Me With Love

Praying 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 – The Love Chapter

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
I want your love to flow through me.
You love has been poured out into my heart. (Rm. 5:5)
I am the object of your love. (Col. 3:12)
Help me to understand love more fully.
Speak to my heart what love means.
Your love in me is patient and kind,
Your love in me does not envy
Your love in me does not parade itself
Your love in me thinks no evil
Your love in me does not behave rudely
Your love in me does not seek its own
Your love in me thinks no evil
Your love in does not rejoice in iniquity
Your love in me rejoices in the truth
Your love in me bears all things, hopes all things,
Your love in me believes all things, endures all things,
Your love in me will never fail. (I Cor. 13:4-8)
Help me to die to myself and allow Your love to
flow through me. I want your love to flow through me
so much that is becomes a natural thing to me.
Lord break me over my lack of love,
so your love will flow through me.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit and may your graces flow
through me like never before.
In Jesus’ name
Amen

  1. What a beautiful reminder of how we’re supposed to pray! And it all comes from the Bible, a resource we often don’t consider when praying.

  2. Amye,
We would all probably do better in our prayer life if we considered praying Scripture. When we are praying Scripture we know we are praying God’s will. Many times we really wonder if we are praying in God’s will and this helps keep us focused.
